China Becomes the Center of World Bus Industry

In 2003, in the world total output of 310,000 passenger buses, 70,000 sets produced from China, accounts for 22.6% of global total output. The general secretary of BAAV Luc Glorieux believed that China becomes the center of bus manufacture and market.

Luc Glorieux announced in Shanghai recently: the 5th BusWorld Asia Exhibition which hold by BAAV, China Civil Engineering Society Public Transport Society of China, VNU Exhibition Asia will take place in Shanghai New International Exhibition from March 15 to 17, 2005.The meeting of the World Bus Operation Traders will take place at the same time.

Luc Glorieux point that India and Brazil become the bus center following with China. According to the statistic of BAAV, the Aisa output of bus in 2003 up to 170,000 sets, account for 54.8% of the global total output. The general secretary said: in the following 5 years, China bus industry will still keep fast growth. "

According to relevant predicting, in 2005, the volume of passenger transport of Chinese highway will up to 18 billion persons, the total vehicle number will up to 1,630,000 sets. And the travel passenger bus will reach to 640,000 sets, the high-and-middle rank account for 45%. Beijing Olympic Games and Shanghai World Expo are held in 2008 and 2010 respectively, so the quantity of travelers will increase sharply.
