Wan Gang, a domestic auto expert, says China has significantly improved its electrically operated auto industry since 2001. With four years of intensive research, China's power-driven vehicle production methods have caught up with many developed countries.

China has applied over 500 internal and external patents to its electric auto industry, and has already developed electrically operated cars with registered Intellectual property rights and put model cars on trial.
