Suzhou, an ancient city with rich Chinese heritage in China's Jiangsu province, is expected to build Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) line in 2008. Reporters learned from Suzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau that at present Suzhou has made the layout plan of BRT line 1 and the line is likely to be opened on July 1st this year.
Bus Rapid Transit Line 1, which starts from Suzhou High-Tech Zone in west to Suzhou Industrial Park in the east, stretches approximately 27 kilometers and totally has fourteen stops. After been built, The Bus Rapid Transit Line 1 is likely to ease Suzhou's transportation pressure.
