After Beijing firstly put National IV Emission Standard into practice, Shanghai is planning to implement National IV Emission Standard in 2009.

Zhangquan, director general of Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau unveiled this on 9 April.

According to statistical data, exhausted gas emission will reduce 50% when National IV Emission Standard put into practice.

It is good news to all Shanghai residents, also to the coming World Expo 2010.
