China's FAW Group Corp said it sold 739,183 vehicles in the first five months, up 28.1 pct year-on-year.

In a statement, the company said sedan sales for the period stood at 581,061, up 31.6 pct from a year earlier. Sales of medium and heavy-duty trucks rose 32.3 pct to 100,159, with light-truck sales up 0.2 pct at 33,543 units.

The automaker did not provide figures for May.
