On August 31st, The Launch Ceremony of Phase 2 of Foton AUV New Energy Bus Project has been held in Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., drawing its its curtain to develop Foton AUV New Energy Bus.

According to introduction, Foton Motor has alway put "New energy R&D and application" as its core development strategy and invested large amount of money and scientific manpower on developing new energy vehicle. Meanwhile, Foton has been the first domestic motor company who realized the mass production of Hybrid-power vehicles in China. Foton has also provided Fuel-cell buses with "Zero-emission and pollution" to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Foton AUV bus vice-general manager Liu guoqiang expressed:"Hybrid-powered buses will have a splendid future, since more and more hybid vehicle's parts and components are produced locally. In terms of the Foton's development strategy, Foton is expected to produce 1,500 Hybrid-powered vehicles annually in 2012.
