Brilliance China Automotive Holding Ltd (Brilliance Auto)<1114>, the first overseas-listed Chinese auto maker, plans to officially launch its new production base in Mianyang, Sichuan province by the end of this year, sources reported.

The proposed Sichuan Mianyang plant will boost the company's total production to 500,000 from the current 400,000 units and will mainly produce Jinbei series vehicles, sources said.

Brilliance Auto planned to set aside RMB 1 billion to invest in its second phase of expansion, aiming to boost output capacity and strengthen vehicle design innovation. 

Last year, the Chinese automaker sold 300,369 vehicles, representing a robust increment of 42.72% over the corresponding period of last year.

Brilliance Auto, which engaged in producing Zhonghua passenger car, Jinbei Haise minibus, and A class sedans, also sells BMW 3 series and 5 series sedans in China. The company exports its vehicles to Russia, South Africa and some European countries.
