According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine reported that two joint ventures of Toyota Motor in China will recall a combined 83,684 autos because of faults in the manual transmission.

Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd, a joint venture between China FAW Group Corp and Toyota Motor Corp, will recall 83,406 units of its products beginning November 3.

Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd, Toyota's second joint venture in China under a partnership with Guangzhou Automotive Industrial Corp, will recall 278 units, also due to transmission problems. The regulator did not say if any accidents have been reported as a result of the problem.
