english.Chinabuses.com 2008-12-29

The China bus manufacturer Bonluck has developed a bus with a fully electric driveline, destined for Taiwan. It is the second order from this country, the main difference with last is the environmental friendly all-electric driveline. The bus body is based on the JXK6120.

Main highlight of the vehicle is the power system, based on 15 groups of more than 500 polymer lithium-ion battery, which ensure that the bus will be able to drive 280 kilometres after charging the batteries for 3-5 hours. Also fitted is a brake energy recovery system, which feeds electricity back into the accumulators when braking. Polymer lithium-ion batteries were chosen because of the light weight of the battery, but also the higher energy density, longer life and the lower cost. Also of importance is the safety aspect, the chance of an explosion or catching fire is minimal, according to Bonluck technicians.
