News from Toyota reports that it will recall 121,930 vehicles in China because a problem that could cause drivers to lose steering control. Due to manufacturing defects, the electric power steering (EPS) system on these vehicles could fail to function and lead to steering failure in the worst cases.

The notice did not state whether there are any accidents reported due to defects. Toyota will contact owners of the affected vehicles, conduct free checks and replace the defected parts at no cost.
