April 10, 2002 - Technocarb Equipment Ltd. is pleased
to announce that it has received Certificates of Conformity
from EPA for its aftermarket alternative fuel conversion
system for the 2002 GM 8.1L engine in heavy duty applications
such as school buses and delivery vehicles. The EPA
Certification covers both propane and natural gas
conversions. The Technocarb systems may be installed
as either a dedicated (mono-fuel) system or in conjunction
with the existing gasoline system, allowing the user
to switch between the fuels.
Both the natural gas and the propane conversion systems
are certified to Federal and Clean-Fuel Fleet standards,
achieving certified LEV exhaust emission levels.
Recently, Technocarb Equipment in conjunction with
Mopesa (formally Perkins Mexico)
achieved federal emission certification for a diesel
engine platform modified for LPG & CNG spark ignition
operation.
Mopesa expects to go to full production with their
“:ESPAGAS”: engine shorly, for use in Mexico City
public transportation buses.
