of September in 2003, six thousand buses will use low sulfur
fuel in Guangzhou

Bus will be no longer smoking by using low sulfur
fuel
Automobile exhaust fathering is an important role
in Guangzhou atmosphere pollution fathering. The
Environment Protection Department has put forward
three plans to control the automobile pollution.
There are 6000 diesel oil automobiles have replaced
it with low sulfur fuel which is low than 0.05%.
China Petrochemical Industry provides all, and there
are 45 bus gas stations proved this kind of low
sulfur fuel.
The reasons of bus' black smoke are as follows:
First, Lots of buses in Guangzhou are old, so can't
adapt the development of engine; Second, It will
emit black smoke due to inadequate drive and large
burthen; Third, the quality of fuel is bad. In fact,
lots of luxury buses never emit black smoke because
the finer engine and high quality fuel.
About the automobile pollution control, Guangzhou
Environment Protection Department planed to put
out the entering rule of buses, taxies, working
vehicles before the end of the year, that the new
automobiles which enterprises purchased must fit
to Europe¢òor Europe ¢ó;
The buses, which have used 3 years, should be rebuilt,
and the buses, which have used for 3-5 years and
can't fit to the standard, the engine should be
rebuilt, pulsed catalyzing and cleaning set, smoke
cleaning set.
The government rejected delaying of vehicles discarding
and annual checkup, protecting environment. Car
manages department won't issue the certificate to
the heavy diesel oil automobiles which can't fit
to the standard, the new cars which haven't wrote
into the list, the special vehicles haven't checked
up by Environment Protection Department.
