On November 8,The first Dongfeng combined powered buses launched in Wuhan as the No. 510 bus line, this indicates that Wuhan has become the first electric powered buses demonstration city in China.

The electric powered automobile is one of the 12 important projects of the high scientific and technical plan of "the tenth Five-Year Plan" of China. Wuhan will accumulate a large amount of technical data and commercialized operation experience as the first demonstration city that starts the electric automobile in the whole country, and can generate strategy for policies and regulations of probing environmental protection, tax revenue and city application planning, also will offer reference for popularizing the electric automobile in China for future.

According to the arrangement of Department of Science and Technology, some other cities will start the running demonstration of electric automobile this year too, such as Beijing, Weihai etc.
