On the 7th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo, the first double deck electric bus which has domestic intellectual property rights gain the focus. The bus has no exhaust emission, no pollution and has higher energy efficiency, and is called green environmental protection vehicle. The vehicle has embodied humanity design concept: the chassis can be raised or lowered when the vehicle door opened; and non-obstacle design facilitates wheelchairs to up and down freely; additionally, there's toilet on the bus.
According to report, during the 2008 Olympic period, there will be over one thousand of domestic made electric vehicles serving in the Olympic village and on main traffic roads to Olympic venues. Recently, there will be 20 electric buses starting to run at line 121 of Beijing public traffic.
