Tang Min is the chief economist of the Asian Development Bank in China. He's been witnessing the changes brought about by the macro-economic control policy implemented from the end of last year.
Tang Min says thanks to China's effective macro-economic control policy, some over-heated sectors have been cooling down. For example, excessive investment in industries such as steel and iron have been contained. However, he says that it's not time yet for complacency, otherwise we may see a economic rebound once again.
Meanwhile, according to financial experts from Citybank, one of the world's biggest banks, the first half of this year has seen China successfully stimulate consumption by maintaining low interest rates. However, the decreasing rate of investment is not satisfying enough. Huang Yiping is from the office of Citybank's Greater China region.
He says the government should also think of other market adjustment measures, such as further use the lever of bank rates. That will be a good addition to the central control policy.
Deloite-Touche is one of the worlds four biggest accounting firms. Its Global CEO William Parrett says his company is fully confident about China's long-term economic prospects:
"Well, I think you hear various things, sometimes, you hear people talking about soft-landing, talking about hard-landing, they talk about the economy being over-heated, they talk about it cooling down. But the one I hear is that everyone is very positive about China's long-term prospects, almost everybody wants to play a role, to play an important part in development of China."
