The number of auto imported to China during the first three months of 2006 reached 51,000, according to a news release from the General Administration of Customs(GAC) on Wednesday.

According to statistics, China imported 22,000 vehicle in March, and 29,000 in the first two months this year.

China's export of machinery and electronic products grew 34.2 percent to reach 114.58 billion US dollars in the first three months of this year, making up 58.1 percent of the country's total exports.
