The
National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) annual press conference for announcing
the country's top 500 manufacturers and large industrial corporations in 2006
was held in Beijing at the Great Hall of the People on August 19. The top 500
are ranked according to gross sales as listed in their 2005 annual reports. The
top 10 corporations in China for 2006 are (in order): Shanghai Baosteel Group
Corporation, FAW Group Corporation, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Legend Holdings,
Haier Group, Motorola (China) Electronics Ltd., Shougang Group, Anshan Iron and
Steel Group Corporation, Tangshan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Iron
and Steel (Group) Corporation. The
top 10 corporations included two automobile manufacturers:FAW Group Corporation
and Dongfeng Motor Corporation FAW

Annual sales exceed one million units.
