The
Changchun Wheel division of FAW Sihuan Automotive Co., Ltd. was recently awarded
the title of "Global Automotive Parts and Components Supplier" at the
launch ceremony for the "China Export-oriented Automobile and Automotive
Parts Industrial Centers" program, sponsored jointly by China's Ministry
of Commerce (MOFCOM) and National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) at
Beijing's Jingxi Hotel on August 17. The
award provides FAW Sihuan's Changchun Wheel division with favorable government
support that will enhance the company's position as a global OEM wheel supplier.
"China expects the new export-oriented production centers and manufacturers
to play a leading role in optimizing automobile and automotive parts exports,
help protect the intellectual property rights of Chinese manufacturers, and refine
the capabilities of the country's domestic industry", said Vice Premier Wu
Yi. Also at
the conference, Zhu Yanfeng signed a 15 year strategic partnership agreement with
COSCO (Group) Company designed to enhance cooperation between the two companies,
resulting in improved international shipping and logistics services, and lower
costs. The
Changchun Wheel division possesses a world class wheel production line, spinning
sectional wheel production line, and leading research and development center.
As the company has aggressively pursued both OEM and aftermarket business opportunities
in the growing domestic and international markets, it has taken advantage of its
innovation-promoting culture, technology, state-of-the-art equipment, forward-looking
global sales strategy, improvements in products and processes, ability to quickly
bring new customer-driven products to market, and the trend towards modularization
and modular outsourcing.
