plans to import 200 buses and 1,000 bus chassis to increase public transport facilities
in several provinces, a report said Tuesday. The organization of land
transport operators (Organda) expects the first delivery of completely-built-up
buses and chassis would take place in November although it remains undecided over
the brand. However, the Organda focuses on only two brands, either Hino
or Mercedes-Benz, which offer competitive prices and wide after-sale service network,
reported leading economic daily Bisnis Indonesia . The government has
agreed to cut import duty on public buses by 5 %, it said.
