Besides 29 new
concept and produced vehicles, FAW also displayed 4 advanced engines at Auto China
2006, including CA4GA and FECO series engines, HM483Q engine and CA3GA2 engine.
 CA4GA
ENGINE SERIES
FAW
itself has implemented the works including concept design, engineering design,
performance development and mechanical development, and matched CA4GA engine series
with vehicle system. FAW also applies parameterized design method to realize simultaneous
engineering, matches and calibrates engine and vehicle electronically controlled
system. The flexible production line mode and rolling development are also completed
by FAW independently. This
kind of engine adopts new technologies and new materials like variable intake
camshaft timing (VCT), plastic intake pipe, no fuel return, electronic throttle;
direct ignition electronically controlled multipoint fuel injection system, quiet
chain drive, coupling type stainless steel exhaust pipe, magnesium aluminum cylinder
head cover and chain chamber cover, etc. The
engine is conformed to meet Euro 3/Euro 4 emission regulation, and meets the fuel
consumption limit of the national standard of the second stage. ADD-ON
method is applied to the matched automated mechanical transmission (AMT), which
is based on the conventional fixed shaft transmission and dry clutch, adds an
actuator featuring motor drive to control clutch disengagement and engagement
automatically as well as gear selection and gearshift. FAW develops independently
communication protocol and realizes CAN BUS communication between AMT system and
engine, and applies the automatic and manual gearshift mode, which is capable
of controlling special operating mode like snowfield, gradient, etc., suitable
for A/A0 car.  FECO
SERIES ENGINE
FAW
has developed FECO clean and energy saving engine series independently, which
includes advanced international level 1.8L direct injection surcharged engine
type and 1.8L, 2.0L and 2.2L natural aspirated engine types. This
kind of engine series adopts advanced technologies like direct injection and surcharging,
DOHC, 4-valve, air intake/exhaust variable camshaft timing (VCT), etc, with emission
directly in conformity with Euro 4 standard. The engine block is made on aluminum
material, thus resulting in lightweight of the whole unit. The engine has high
structural strength, vibration and noise of which have been optimally designed
and superior to target engine type. To
satisfy the actual application mode of domestic users, a unique combustion system
is developed which not only guarantees powerful mid/low speed torque under extra
low fuel consumption, moreover, gasoline direct injection and air passage injection
can share the same combustion platform and one cylinder head design, thus lays
a solid foundation for the constant development of series engine technologies.
The high-tech
5-speed manual transmission (5MT) matched with FECO engine, which is independently
developed by FAW. Capable of withstanding up to 250N¡¤m input torque,
this kind of transmission can be equipped to B class car and C class car. The
lightweight design and speed ratio distribution further reduce fuel consumption;
the optimized design also reduces noise and improves gearshift comfort.  HM483Q
ENGINE
HM483Q
is a water-cooled and four-stroke gasoline engine, which features of lightweight,
low fuel consumption, quietness and low vibration, low emission, good heat radiation,
excellent reliability£¬and long lifetime. To
aim at safeguarding high quality and performance, HM483Q adopts the PCM (powertrain
control module) which integrates ECU (engine control unit), and engine-immobilizer
anti-theft system. Due to the advanced VICS (variable inertia charging system),
it brings HM483Q engine most charge within the whole speed range, and achieves
both high power at high speed and good fuel economy at low speed. The
HM483Q gasoline engine is designed to guarantee its excellent performance and
outstanding reliability in the course of service time. It meets the requirements
of current national laws and regulations as well as consumer¡¯s requests
to high quality engines. Meanwhile, its fuel consumption meets the level of the
national standard of the second stage stipulated for passenger cars, emission
of which can be upgraded to the Euro 4.  CA3GA2
The
CA3GA2 is a new high performance engine, which is developed on the base of TJ376QE
engine by Tianjin FAW. The engine is of gear drive, dual overhead camshaft, direct
drive, 4-valve/cylinder construction. Both high flow coefficient of inlet and
outlet pipes and cam profile are optimally designed, thus resulting a high-speed,
large power output of the engine. With longer inlet manifold, the torque at the
middle and low speed is increased. The tent combustion chamber is used, significantly
reducing the emission of HC. Now the engine emission meets Euro 3 standard, and
is potential to reach Euro 4 standard. Compared with similar engines, TJ376QE
engine¡¯s comprehensive performances are at leading position both at
home and abroad.
