11-04-2007 It
is the largest individual order for DIWA transmissions Voith has ever received.
The Iranian citybus manufacturer Shahab Khodro is one-hundred percent in favor
of Voith and has just ordered 6 000 DIWA 863.3E transmissions. "This contract
enables us to back up our dominant position as automatic transmission manufacturers
in Iran," says Key Account Manager Chris Herrlinger. The first 500 of the
6 000 DIWA transmissions to be delivered by the end of 2010 have already been
shipped to Khodro. "Voith will be represented in every Shahab Khodro citybus
built in Tehran," states Herrlinger. A
quick look at last year's production total of 13 000 DIWA transmissions underlines
the significance of this new order from Iran. The fact of Shahab Khodro being
the second-largest Iranian citybus manufacturer as well as the technological market
leader declaring its preference for Voith, adds to the company's satisfaction
regard-ing this order. Voith has had excellent business relations with Iranian
bus manufac-turers since the eighties and has already delivered some 7 500 DIWA
transmis-sions to this country. Reliability
and service were among the criteria that made Shahab Khodro decide to choose Voith
as its sole transmission supplier. The 6 000 new DIWA.3E transmissions will be
installed into the current citybus type SK 2612. The gas-versions of the bus (SK
2612 CNG) will also receive DIWA.3E transmissions and therefore meet the growing
demands on low emissions and fuel savings.
