FAW
Group announced this week that over 133,000
vehicles were delivered in April, an increase
of 17.4 percent over the same month last year.
Total sales for the first 4 months of 2007 rose
strongly 23 percent to 461,300 units, putting
the company well on target to meet its 2007
year sales goals. Sales of passenger cars increased
25.4 percent to 354,000 units during the four
month period. Medium and heavy truck sales jumped
47.1 percent to 58,699 units.
During
the month of April, passenger car sales reached
98,200 units. Medium and heavy truck sales at
FAW Group's Jiefang commercial truck division
leaped 69.6 percent to 20,300 units, owing much
to the company's diverse product range incorporating
the latest technologies and market leading designs.
In the light truck sector, sales grew briskly
with 8,630 units sold in April. FAW-Volkswagen
also witnessed strong sales, selling 40,485
units during the month.
