The
engineering level in China is increasing substantially
as more and more multinational companies are
undertaking design in the developing country,
rather than treating it merely as a manufacturing
base.
This
is evidenced through the sale of Eplan, one
of the world's leading software providers for
electric engineering design.
Shou
Huidong is sales Director for the Asia Pacific
at Eplan Software and Service.
Speaking
at the release of its new software, Eplan Electric
P8, he said that its sale volume has been doubling,
even tripling, every year since its entry into
China.
"The
subsidiaries of multinationals in the past were
mainly involved in the sales. Now more and more
engineering design work move from Europe to
China. Secondly, in the Chinese market, the
competition is fierce at the moment everywhere.
These local manufacturers want to go abroad
to survive. They also need to increase their
productivity for design work."
Shou
Huidong is positive that the domestic demand
for this design software will continue to soar,
and that the market size taken by China will
equal that of Europe.
