On
August 8, 2007. Cummins Inc. and China's Shaanxi
Automobile Group Co. Ltd. held a big ceremony
for the new joint venture company--Xi'an Cummins
Engine Company. The new company will put into
production of Cummis ISM 11L heavy-duty engine
in China.
From
2005, both sides had signed a feasibility study
agreement on the formation of a 50/50 joint
venture company to produce the Cummins ISM 11
L heavy-duty engine in China.The feasibility
study was the last step before Cummins and Shaanxi,
which was part of the Shaanqi Group, signed
a joint venture agreement that outlines the
parameters of the partnership.
Xi'an
Cummins Engine Company located in Xi'an Economy
and Technology Development Park, Covering 172
acres, The annual production capacity of this
company is 50,000 units. Xi'an Cummins devotes
to built the first class produce ability, forming
the partnerships with Cummins Ameirca ISM engine
on production basement.
Shaanxi
Automobile Group Co., Ltd aims to realize sustainable
development and actively develop joint venture
and cooperation with foreign companies. By adopting
social capitals in a broad way, both its scale
and production capability have increased rapidly
and reach an annual product output of 30,000
heavy-duty automobiles, 20,000 medium lorries,
1,500 buses (including its chassis) and 50,000
heavy-duty truck axles. In addition, the annual
production of its radiator, oil tank and other
auto parts achieve 500,000,000 RMB production
value.
