On
April 18th 2007, the 3rd International Commercial
Vehicles and Components Exhibition was held
in Beijing.On the Exhibition,Beijing Jinghua
Bus Co., Ltd launched two types of Olympic bus:Jinhua
Ruby and Jinghua Cruiser,of which the former
is an electric bus,and will not pollute the
environment.The design to put the wheelchair
for disabled in the bus also embodied the "Culture-enriched
Olympics".
In
order to improve the air condition of Beijing,the
city has accelerated the alteration of old and
used buses."50,000 taxi and 10,000 old
buses have to be changed to meet the Euro3 emission
standard before Olympic Games."Du shaozhong,the
deputy director of Beijing Environmental Protection
Bureau,said at a Press Conference conducted
during "Good Luck Beijing"games to
test air condition of Beijing."All new
vehicles in Beijing must accord with National5
emission standard until 2008,those who don`t
meet the standard will be strictly restricted.
According
to Du,Beijing has made great efforts to improve
the city environment since these 10 years.For
example,to reduce vehicle emission,Beijing built
a bus team composed of totally 4000 CNG buses,which
ranks the first in the world.
From
August 17 to 20,about 1.3millon vehicles will
be ordered off the roads to collect data of
Beijing's air condition during "Good Luck
Beijing".Du added,"to ensure the air
quality during the games,based on 27 monitor
stations,Beijing will add 3 fixed and 2 mobile
monitor stations.Aiming at gurantee the air
quality during Olympic Games,Beijing has made
several schedules to conduct the air inspection.
