Ladies
and Gentlemen,
I
also would like to share my excitement and pleasure
with you to be here today for this event. Within
ZF I am representing and leading the BUS-AXLE-TEAM
and business unit.
Already
in 1983 ZF has invented the Portal-Axle which
is the basis and backbone of modern full low-floor
buses in the world since then.
More
than 100.000 buses are meanwhile equipped with
modern low-floor -axle technology from ZF in
highly populated areas and megacities around
the globe.
When
we look around the world these days and ask
for the highest speed in the development of
economy, individual and public transport-I don`t
tell a secret that China is the place where
things change fastest.
So
wonder, our ways were crossing and very fast
"Beijing Public Transport" recognized
that full low floor buses are the way to go,
to manage the rapid growing demand for high
quality standard in public transport ,easy accessibility,
fast passenger change at stations-and we became
partners.
With
the establishment of ZF-Drivetech in Suzhou
we reacted to the opportunities here in China
and in 1998 we founded this company to serve
the busmarket only and to provide the industry
with all ZF-expertise and technology through
one face for professional and fast responce.
I
am glad to say today in front of this audience
that our successful project here with "Beijing
Public Transport" is the best proof of
this customer orientated strategy of ZF.
I
am also glad to announce today that we are intensifly
working to extend the localisation of these
products in our new built plant in Hangzhou
and all the buses delivered in 2007 to BPTC
are already having the ZF-axle made in China.
Just a few weeks ago axle number 1000 was built
in Hangzhou.
Within
a breathtaking short period of time, "Beijing
Public Transport" has installed one of
the most modern and sophisticated BRT-Systems
in the world. This bright example of world-class
management and organisation became within a
very short period of time "the benchmark".
The world is looking to Beijing when the fast
growing megacities anywhere around the globe
are looking for a solution to their dramatically
changing traffic situations. This is another
achievement of BPTC for which we would like
to offer our congratulations.
It
was a pleasure and honour for us to support
BPTC and its choosen bus manufacturers to design,
built and manufacture close to 2500 of new vehicles
with latest super low floor bus technology within
such a short period of time.
Today
we come together to celebrate another important
step of "Beijing Public Transport"
and we are proud to be part of this important
step, the indroduction of a substantial fleet
of zero emission, battery driven buses.
We
are happy to support this important further
step towards future, environmental friendly
solutions of public transport by providing 50
sets of axle for these vehicles free of charge
as a gift and a sign of our support and understanding
of partnership.
We
do wish Beijing Public Transport a very bright
future together with ZF--your partner in the
field of axle systems, steering systems and
transmission technology.
