Neoplan Vehicle Co., Ltd and ZAP Corporation signed a strategic agreement to set
up a join venture company on September 13, 2007. The registered capital reached
100 million US dollars. It is a new era for Jinhua Neoplan entered the electric
vehicle industry with high profile after the cooperation with Neoplan, Man and
Lotus. ZAP
Corporation was established in 1994 and the headquarters located in Santa Rosa,
California. Producing electric vehicle and related spare parts are the major business
of ZAP. Jinhua Neoplan Vehicle Co., Ltd is the state-assigned enterprise to manufacture
saloon cars in China. It imported the advanced manufacturing technology from NEOPLAN
Company in Germany. The annual production capability reaches 2,000 units. According
to the introduction from ZAP, the batteries management stystem is the core technology.
The system can fully guarantee the efficacy of each battery and the maximum speed
can reach 250km/h. ZAP also says the price of each vehicle is approximate 30,000
US dollars.
