In
order to promote Chinese Public Transportation, on September 20, Yutong and Aluminum
Corporation of American (Alcoa) formally announced they have established cooperative
partner relationship, and will jointly develop new generation energy-saving and
enrivonmental protection bus by adopting world-class bus structure design, material
and manufacture technology. The first step will be the research of a new economical
bus, which is said to sharply lower the emission of greenhouse gas. The sample
bus is expected to be launched during 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Alcoa
is the world's leading producer and manager of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum
and alumina facilities, and is active in all major aspects of the industry. According
to Mr. Chen jinya, president of Asian and Pacific region of Alcoa, We fully believed
that through combining the whole aluminum stucture and advanced manufacture technology,
the new bus would reduce 15 percent to 20 percent greenhouse emission while ensuring
the bus`s safety and reliability. This
cooperation indicated that China Buses & Coaches industry, which are represented
by Yutong, is committed to reasearching and developing high-technological products
to change the tranditional concept of "Made in China". As the first
bus manufacturer to enter aluminum bus domain, Yutong is likely to lead the the
direction of future bus`s development.
