Buses
in the highways mostly came from foreign manufactures, especially made-in-Japan
ten years ago in China, but today the passenger transportation is definitely different.
Also, in many places outside the country, China buses have became a familiar sight
on the road. Qatar
is one of the Middle East country, where there were only 200 buses previously.
After the Higer bus arrived in Qatar with 800 units, Higer buses not only run
in many Qatari schools and around the capital city Doha, but also are busy in
the intercity transportation. The name of Suzhou Kinglong, manufacturer of Higer
buses, is now a familiar symbol of passenger transportation in the wealthy Arabian
country. In
Cuba, Yutong bus wins high praise from the local medias. A survey by the Cuban
newspaper Juventud Rebelde, Cuban drivers gave a high praise on Yutong buses,
especially in the safety aspect. According to Cuban traffic authorities reported
that 437 bus accidents had happened in Cuba since July 2005, but none bus came
from Yutong that was involved in these accidents. Some
bus exporters encountered difficulties on their export routes in 2005, but their
coach' business received broad welcome from many countries around the world. "In
the next three or five years, more and more Chinese buses will be exported to
Europe and America", predicted by the European consulting firm Capgemini
in 2005. "China will be not only a bus manufacturing giant, but also a bus
export power." Statistics
from the Trade Association of Coach and Bus Operations shows that China produced
38,900 large-sized buses and 55,900 mid-sized buses with a value of 30 billion
yuan in 2005, accounting for one-third of the world's total. For the export business,
China exported 5,756 buses in 2005, accounting for only six percents of the global
market in total. At present, China buses' export is under the great change and
it will be breakout very soon with only a year later. (To be continued tomorrow
