PetroChina and Shell ink Long-term Contracts

PetroChina International Company Limited (PetroChina) and Shell Eastern LNG (Shell) signed a binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) recently. This is a milestone for Shell in the development of LNG supplies to China. According to the contract, PetroChina and Shell will work together to execute a LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement before the end of 2008. Shell also said during the next 20 years, Shell will sell one million tonnes per year of LNG to PetroChina.

Shell is very glad to catch this opportunity to cooperate with PetroChina, also, this is a new turning point for Shell and Chinese LNG customers, said Jon Chadwick, the executive Vice President of Shell Gas & Power Asia. Vice President of PetroChina and Executive Vice President of Shell Gas & Power Asia signed the agreement.
