First
unit electric bus whose maximum speed can reach 80 kilometers an hour drived out
of production line of Zhuzhou CSR Times Electric CO., Ltd in central China's Hunan
Province on 19th. Relying
on the world top-ranking core technology which Zhuzhou Times Electric Group has
formed in the process of researching and producing high-speed electric vehicle,
this production line possessed a capacity to produce 3000 units electric buses
and hybrid powered buses, 10,000 units power transmission systems. This
newly launched 10-meter long electric bus, besides without an exhaust pipe, has
a similar appearance compared with common buses. As about performance, the bus
charging one time could continuously run 200 kilometers, with the maximum speed
80 kilometers an hour. It also has many characteristics such as strong mountain
climbing ability, lower noise, energy-saving and comfort. Moreover, once the power
has been used up, the bus could recharge swiftly within 2 hours. Experts say this
technical target can satisfy most of cities public transport need. Together
with the electric bus was a 11.5 meter-long hybrid-powered bus. Compared with
common buses, this hybrid-powered bus can save fuel 20% to 30%. Hunan
vice-governor Xu xianping expressed, from 2007, Hunan province will allocate more
than RMB 35 million local public finance to reaearch, produce and apply electric
buses. Editor:James
