BeiQi Foton Motor Co, China's biggest commercial vehicle maker, said yesterday its 2007 profit may more than double as the country's construction boom fueled sales.

The Beijing-based truck maker, poised to sell a stake to Daimler AG, didn't give a profit figure in its statement to Shanghai Stock Exchange. Foton's third-quarter profit more than doubled to 47.7 million yuan (US$6.36 million), while sales jumped 56 percent to 6.57 billion yuan.
