The
activity "Natural Gas Bus brings Bangkok environmental protection" which
was hosted jointly by China and Thailand opened on October 31 in Bangkok. The
China-made natural gas buses had entered into Thailand to substitute fuel buses
in Bangkok so as to promote environmental protection and save energy. Officials
from Thailand ministry of communications, ministry of industry and local media
attended the activity. Five newly launched China-made natural gas buses had added
vitality of the activity. 
According
to intruductions of Fan wanshun, general manager of Shanghai Shenlong bus Co.,
Ltd, It is necessary for Bangkok to search for environmental protection bus to
replace old-dated bus. Early one year ago, Shanghai Shenglong seized this opportunity
and explored Thailand market. At present, 480 units natural gas buses have been
put into Thailand transport market, in which 15 units are airport shuttles. These
natural gas buses adopt superior quality engines and installed air conditions
duo to the hot weather in Thailand. The resonable price also raises the popularity
of the bus. This
time, Bangkok has purchased 500 units natural gas buses, putting into public transport
operation. Person
from Bangkok masses transport organization Pi nan praised highly towards China-made
natural gas bus, considering it can not only ease the pressure brought by increasingly
fuel price, but also improve the air conditions of Bangkok. He revealed that Bangkok
is likely to replace 18,000 public buses to natural gas buses. Besides Shanghai
Shenglong, Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd also provided help. Accoring
to the intruduction, Shanghai Shenlong is cooperating with a local enterprise
to build a natural gas bus assembly plant in Chunwuli, Thailand. The plant is
predicted to put into production in the end of the year.
