Machinery Industry Federation executive vice-chairman Cai Weici introduced on
January 21 that China clean vehicle research capability is expected to be strengthened. Cai
said on a press conference of 2007 Machinery Industry Economic operation Condition,
China self-manufactured new clean vehicles such as electric vehicle, hybrid-powered
vehicle and fuel cell energy vehicle have come into being, of which the fuel cell
vehicle has attained world-class level; electric vehicle and hybrid-powered vehicle
realised mass production and purified electric vehicles have been exported abroad
in batches. China has so far formed independent development capabilities on national
4 standard emission engines, and more than 100 species natural gas vehicles have
been listed on China new vehicle products catalog. More than 70 Chinese cities
have applied natural gas vehicles, the volume of the market has attained more
than 0.3 million units. According
to the introduction of Dong yang, vice-chairman of China Association of Automobile
Manufactures, among China auto exportation, China independently developed brand
vehicles has been in the leading position. According
to statistics, China's auto output in 2007 had firstly surpassed 8 million, reaching
accumulative 8.88 millon and up 22.2% year-on-year. From 2003 to 2007, China's
auto output increased from 2 million to 8.88million, up 22.02% year-on-year, the
average growth rate up 20% in seven consecutive years. From the point view of
the product structure, the growth rate of commercial vehicle firstly exceeds passenger
car. Among commercial vehicles, the output growth of heavy trucks up 77%, whose
sales amount has attained 69%.
