On January 21, Zheng Shusen, the deputy to the people's congress of Beijing and board chairman of Beijing Public Transport Holdings Ltd. expressed that during 2008 Beijing Olympic period, there will be 4,200 units Public Transport Buses served for Beijing. Thus, Beijing is expected to increase 2,000 units Public Transport Buses, shorten bus frequency and prolong operation time of some bus lines.

"Until this June, the total amount of Beijing Public Transport Bus will attain 21,000 units, 4,200 units of which are about to serve for Beijing Olympic Games" Zheng added. In order to guarantee Beijing citizen's travel demand, Beijing will newly adds 2,000 units Public Transport Buses.
