2008 Spring Festival, Beijing's transport passenger volume attained 61,729,300
people, up 11.38 percent year-on-year, thereinto both rail transit transportation
and suburb transportation increased rapidly and no heavy transport accident and
complaint have been reported. The overall festival transport order remained all
right. Reporters
learned from Beijing Municipal Transportation Administration Bureau that during
Spring Festival, the transportation volume of rail transportation has reached
more than 11.21 million, up 100.27 percent compared with the same period last
year, and suburb transportation volume hit 4.12 million, up 100.56 percent year-on-year.
Yet the Public Transportation volume attained 45 million during festival period,
down 3 percent year-on-year.
