to reports from Turkey Media, due to good export performance, Turkey auto output
kept an robust increase in 2007 despite the slump domestic auto market. Reports
said Turkey's auto output in 2007 hit 1.133 million, export amount has attained
a record-high 19.2 billion US dollars. In Continental Europe, Turkey's Bus output
has ranked first among other countries, with light commerce vehicle the second,
truck the seventh, and saloon cars the ninth. It
was reported that Turkey produced autos and auto parts have been mainly exported
to Russia, Southern Europe, the Middle East and EU market. Turkey Auto Manufacturers
Association Chairman Turgay Durak expressed 2006 Turkey Auto output had exceeded
1 million, ranking No.16 in the world and set the objective to hit 1.3 million
in 2008 and 1.5 million in 2012.
